What is a CT600?
The CT600 is your limited company's annual corporation tax return. Every UK limited company must file one after each accounting period — even if there's no tax to pay. It tells HMRC your profit, the tax due, and any reliefs claimed.
It must be filed within 12 months of your accounting period end — but the tax is due 9 months and 1 day after. Missing the deadline incurs automatic penalties.
QuickEasyTax generates and submits the CT600 automatically, along with your statutory FRS 105 micro-entity accounts in iXBRL format — exactly what HMRC requires.
Who it's for
QuickEasyTax CT600 is designed for:
- ✓ Micro-entities under FRS 105 (turnover ≤ £632k)
- ✓ Single-director limited companies
- ✓ Straightforward trading income — consulting, freelancing, services
- ✓ Standard 19% corporation tax rate (no marginal relief complexity)
- ✓ No R&D tax credit claims
- ✓ No group companies or related party transactions
Not designed for:
- ✕ R&D tax credit claims (SME or RDEC)
- ✕ Group companies with intra-group transactions
- ✕ Complex capital allowances (AIA calculations still work)
- ✕ Companies with turnover over £632k (need FRS 102)
- ✕ Non-standard accounting periods
How QuickEasyTax handles CT600
Six steps. Zero spreadsheets.
P&L from your bookkeeping
Your income and expenses are pulled from categorised transactions. No manual retyping.
Tax computation
Corporation tax computed at 19%. Adjustments applied for disallowable expenses. Director's salary and pension handled correctly.
iXBRL accounts generated
FRS 105 micro-entity accounts generated in iXBRL format — the format HMRC requires alongside the CT600.
CT600 XML built
The CT600 form is built in HMRC's GovTalk XML format, with IRmark signature for tamper detection.
Review before submission
See the full computation: income, expenses, adjustments, tax, and tax due. Confirm before anything is sent.
Submitted to HMRC
Sent directly to HMRC's GovTalk gateway. Receipt ID stored in your account as proof of submission.
What is iXBRL?
iXBRL (Inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language) is the format HMRC requires for statutory company accounts filed alongside CT600. It's essentially your P&L and balance sheet with machine-readable tags that HMRC can parse and validate automatically.
Generating iXBRL requires specialist software — it's one of the main reasons most accounting software vendors don't attempt CT600 filing. QuickEasyTax generates FRS 105 micro-entity iXBRL accounts using a custom XML builder validated against HMRC's tagging taxonomy.
You never see the XML — you see your accounts in plain language, review them, and click submit.
Test-In-Live validation
Before any real CT600 is submitted, QuickEasyTax runs a Test-In-Live (TIL) validation with HMRC's production gateway. This confirms that our XML, iXBRL, and IRmark meet HMRC's exact specification. No submission reaches HMRC until this test passes.
